About The Paddy Field

Since its full inception in August 2004, The Paddy Field (or The PF, as we like to call it) has been the watering hole of choice for the majority of Guangzhou’s expatriate community. We stress “community” because The PF is about offering a sanctuary for souls who are initially overwhelmed by the stress of moving to a foreign country. The PF therefore provides an ambience where strangers meet over a pint and become friends over a dozen later.

What transpires after that first meeting, like how your lips first touch the luxuriant creamy head of a Guinness, is all up to your own imagination... we do have good stories to tell though.

Have a laugh over a good day that had past, sob into your Irish stew if you want to when your favourite football team had lost, lambaste your tyrant of a boss over a few whiskeys, connect with people like yourselves who just want to survive Guangzhou (we can assure you, it ain’t easy)... we make it happen here at The PF...
